Sub : Mandatory e-Payment of Service Tax by large taxpayers : Proposed interim Accounting arrangement for e-payment collection.

Kindly refer to this Office Letter No. EDP/e-Bank/2006-07/365 dated 03.10.2006 and your office letter No. DGBA.GAD.No.5974/41.07.001/2006-07 dated 09.10.06 on the subject cited above :

A list of 20 banks (excluding private sector banks) offering e-payment solution was forwarded to your vide our letter dated 03.10.2006. Controller General of Accounts has since approved DENA bank also for collection of indirect taxes through electronic mode. Hence it is proposed to allow DENA bank also to accept e-Payment for all Central Excise and Service Tax Commissionerates without the restriction of Commissionerate-wise authorization.

The details of the Focal Point Branches which will collate and scroll the collection through e-Payment mode for other Commissionerates that are not covered for physical collection, relating to 16 banks are enclosed in the Annexure to this letter. Details for the rest of the banks will be conveyed shortly.

You are requested to issue necessary orders and intimate the banks accordingly.
