17 /2007-Service Tax, Dated: May 12,2007

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 2 of the Central Excise Act , 1944 (1of 1944) and rule 3 of the Service Tax Rules, 1994, the Central Board of Excise and Customs , constituted under the Central Boards of Revenue Act , 1963 ( 54 of 1963 ), appoints the Chief Commissioners of Customs to act as the Chief Commissioners of Central Excise for the purpose of constitution of committee under sub-section (1A ) of section 86 of the Finance Act ,1994 ( 32 of 1994).
